His tenure with Fairfax County also provided him with robust expertise in environmental review, development quantification, zoning interpretations, and proffer compliance. As the Planning Manager with a Washington D.C. business improvement district (BID), Mike represented the interests of property owners by serving as a liaison between the neighborhood’s private stakeholders and District agencies. In managing a variety of public realm projects for the BID, Mike gained unique perspectives regarding low-impact development, curbside management, and streetscape initiatives.
