Jamie is a litigator with a focus on complex commercial disputes in the energy sector. He is well-versed in every stage of litigation from pre-litigation negotiations to discovery, trial, and appeals. Clients appreciate his steadfast focus on their overall objectives and his ability to develop, and implement, winning strategies to achieve those objectives.

Jamie has gained a wealth of litigation experience successfully representing clients in a wide range of civil and regulatory matters. He routinely practices in the state and federal courts of West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Jamie has also assisted with arbitration proceedings before AAA and JAMS.

  • Advised a diversified energy company on the implications of purchasing a water pipeline.
  • Defended a diversified energy company before the Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Review Board against claims including alleged releases of contaminants at well sites and alleged permit violations.
  • Defended a coal company against claims assisted by more than 100+ plaintiffs alleging property damage and water contamination.
  • Defended an international produce wholesaler against a Fortune 500 company’s breach of contract claims.
  • Assisted a hospital system in recovering damages resulting from the failed acquisition of a physician practice.
  • Recovered more than half of a million dollars in property taxes assessed in violation of a coal company’s due process rights and established new precedence before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia.
  • Recovered more than $1 million dollars in disputed funds from a state entity through pre-litigation negotiations on behalf of a government contractor.
  • Defended a home health care company against the United States Department of Labor’s challenge to the classification of more than 500 independent contractors.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a national financial institution for the breach of a commercial note.
