Through our US offices in Los Angeles (CA), Atlanta (GA), Austin (TX), Charlotte (NC), Chicago (IL), Columbia (SC), Raleigh (NC), Richmond (VA), Springfield (IL), Tallahassee (FL), Tysons Corner (VA), and Washington, DC, our experienced consultants partner with our clients to craft and execute savvy strategies to achieve their public affairs goals.
We pride ourselves on listening to our clients, understanding their businesses, and working with them to design practical solutions and the roadmap for reaching them. We serve a wide range of businesses, large and small, as well as nonprofit organizations, governmental bodies, educational institutions, and public-private partnerships.
Since today’s complex challenges rarely fit into traditional professional service silos, many McGuireWoods legal clients welcome the opportunity to tap the expertise of McGuireWoods Consulting’s non-legal professionals in developing integrated, multi-faceted strategies for achieving desired results. Likewise, McGuireWoods Consulting’s ability to draw on the vast substantive knowledge of the McGuireWoods law firm is a potent advantage few public affairs firms can offer. While it’s not necessary to engage McGuireWoods LLP in order to use the services of McGuireWoods Consulting or vice versa, clients frequently find the seamless collaboration among our lawyers and consultants and their in-house team members to be very beneficial.
McGuireWoods Consulting’s reach extends to all levels of government in all fifty states as well as the Nation’s capital. Unlike many public affairs firms with Washington offices, we have an extensive state-level presence and national practice team/network that complement our strong capabilities at the federal level. We are able to discuss policy issues with staff and members of Congress to make the best possible case to these key decision makers. Our bipartisan team possesses a broad array of relationships and contacts with key government officials and agencies, influential former officeholders and staffers, and organizations that impact public policy and regulatory processes.
In addition to helping our clients formulate sound policy initiatives and advocate effectively for them in all governmental venues, our team brings distinctive value through our ability to design and manage complex strategic communications and issue-management programs in support of our clients’ goals. We bring to bear the expertise of highly accomplished state and federal lobbyists, policy experts, media relations professionals, and strategists experienced in grassroots mobilization, issue campaigns, and coalition building—all of whom share a fundamental commitment to integrity and excellent client service.
We are proud of the recognition our work has received, including our status as one of the fastest growing public affairs firms according to the National Law Journal’s special annual report, “The Influence 50.” Among the 1,900 government relations firms examined in the most recent report, McGuireWoods Consulting ranked in the top 20.
McGuireWoods Consulting (MWC), a public-affairs firm, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the McGuireWoods LLP law firm. McGuireWoods lawyers sometimes provide legal or consulting services to MWC clients, and MWC consultants sometimes provide consulting services to McGuireWoods clients, but it is not necessary for clients of MWC to engage the McGuireWoods law firm in order to use MWC, or vice versa. MWC does not provide legal services or legal advice to its clients, nor does engagement of MWC encompass the rendering of legal services by the McGuireWoods law firm or give rise to an attorney-client relationship. When MWC clients obtain legal services from McGuireWoods, a separate engagement with the law firm is necessary.
Ranked among the Top 20 government relations firms.
